Hi.

I would like to ask for your assistance. In our project we are required to access a property file (xml format) using Resourcebundle. I have read that java 1.6 has Resourcebundle.control to do that. The problem is we are only required to use Java 1.5 for this implementation and I am having trouble finding a solution on the internet. Could any please help me? Any input regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated..

Welcome to JavaRanch.

There are any number of ways for reading an XML file. If you're required to use a JVM that does not support the preferred way, it would seem that you will need to put in place a workaround on those obsolete JVMs.

At this point I should insert the obligatory reminder that Java 5 and Java 6 are not supported any more, so you should upgrade to Java 7 posthaste for security reasons, if for nothing else.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we are not required to use any higher java version for our project for this implementation and have no luck in finding a solution. Anyways, thanks a lot for the insight that you have provided. Truly appreciate it.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
