I am using iReport 5.1.0 (i am just learning) and I have installed Java 8 on my pc. Java 8 is the only version of development kit in my pc.

However, when I am trying to start iReport it doesn't start at all. I have read in a forum that iReport doesnt support Java8 even its latest version.

How true is this? If so, Is there any other tools that I can use that visually make reports?

By the way, I am using javafx on GUI development.

Thank you so much!

Not knowing iReport, I can't say for sure; but in general the fact that it doesn't support Java8 simply means that you may not be able to use v8-specific enhancements like Lambda expressions with it. However, v8 should be compatible with all previous versions of Java - and if it ain't, write a stiff e-mail to Oracle.
