new date() and daylight saving

Hi,

I just printed new Date() in my box, and it always returns the older time which corresponds to EDT, however the date command in the box returns the exact time after moving to EST, IS there anything that need to be done for the new Date() to return the exact date ?

new Date() always returns exact date.
The issue is how it is being printed, not within the value of Date itself.

This isn't anything to do with sockets or Internet protocols, so I'm going to make the assumption that the question wasn't about Javascript and move it to Java In General.
