Any recent changes to the site that stops quotes working and stop emails being sent when someone posts to a thread you are watching?

Not consciously. Please provide details of what you observed.

When I 'quote' part of or the whole of a post it sometimes displays the raw markup and sometimes display it correctly.

I no longer receive emails when threads I am responding to have new responses (I have checked that my email account is working).

Edit : this time the quoting is displaying as it should!

Edit2 : See my latest response to http://www.coderanch.com/t/631539/Security/results-blowfish-ECB-HEX-encryption . Note - I also see a problem with 'code' markup !

That post has the Disable BB Code in this message checked. You can edit the post and uncheck the checkbox.

I believe the value of the checkbox is inherited from previous post when making a reply.

Yes, it is. I am not sure why people tick that box; I suspect they don't actually know what it does

The default setting for a given topic is whatever the first poster has set in his profile. Not sure what default is when you set up your acount; I suspect it is to use BB tags. But if someone happens to change it, then that is grandfathered in for all topics that person starts.

Our logs show that in the past 24 hours, mails have been sent to the email id linked to your profile. Can you check your spam folder to see if they are in there?

Interesting ! I have just checked the spam/junk folder and nothing has been received. I am able to send emails from a separate account to that email address. I shall contact Tesco who host the address.

Edit: The last emails I received from the Ranch were on 1st April and entitled "Book Promo: WildFly 8 Administration Guide" and "[Big Moose Saloon] Message posted: Implementing complex Functions for BigDecimals" .

Richard, have you started receiving mails on topics you expect? Our logs show that the last one was sent on 3rd April.

I have just received an email indicating that you have replied to this thread. Was there a problem or is it, as is most likely, just me?

That's good news. Thank you for letting us know.

I suspect the problem you were facing was related to what was reported here http://www.coderanch.com/t/631558/Ranch-Office/www-coderach-poor-reputation-Cisco. We did a change on Friday (I think) which might have helped us get past this for now.
