My train entrance has had many dates come and go for when these stairs will reopen. And they've missed them all. But this one I don't see how they could miss. April 80th it is.

80 April? Well, that's no problem according to Java!

DateFormat df = new SimpleDateFormat("dd MMM yyyy");
Date date = df.parse("80 Apr 2015");
System.out.println(df.format(date));

Output:

19 Jun 2015

Fortunately the new date and time API added in Java 8 is more sensible:

DateTimeFormatter dtf = DateTimeFormatter.ofPattern("dd-MM-yyyy");
LocalDate localDate = LocalDate.parse("80-04-2015", dtf);
System.out.println(dtf.format(localDate));

Output:

Exception in thread "main" java.time.format.DateTimeParseException: Text '80-04-2015' could not be parsed: Invalid value for DayOfMonth (valid values 1 - 28/31): 80
