I am working with a small archive and they have a couple hundred VHS tapes and maybe the same amount of cassette tapes that we would like to convert to digital so we can make them available on the web. I have converted cassettes by linking a player to the microphone jack in a PC and turning on recording software. I have used a similar process for VHS to digital. With both of these tasks a person has to sit and start and monitor the recording.

Are there any kind of automated units that do this? I use to see VHS to DVD recorders but know many of them would not work if they thought the VHS was copyrighted and I have not seen them in the last 4 or 5 years. I have never seen a cassette to CD machine.

TIA.
