Im currently working on a project, struts-ibatis with mysql as the back end, i want to know which is better to do pagination displaytags from sourceforge(can i use this on struts) or do it at the backend(SQL thing)?

Can somebody explain what does the display tag from sourceforge do?
I haven't got a chance to look at it. I appreciate if somebody could give a summary.
Using displaytag can you choose lazy loading or no lazy loading?
