Hello team,

I need your help in getting detailed examples about how I can read/insert into database using JSF code for its different components. I am a beginner in JSF and I have the basics, however, I need the best source which it has helpful, easy and detailed steps to understand the techniques for connecting to the DB and how to insert or read data from the database.

I tried to search, but I found the lessons are not helpful or not described in details. Kindly assist me.

I think you can find good examples with theses following projects -> https://github.com/jboss-developer/jboss-eap-quickstarts/tree/6.3.x-develop/tasks-jsf https://github.com/richfaces/jdf-quickstarts

The reason you cannot find much database code for JSF is that JSF itself doesn't include any support for databases.

The database code you use in a JSF web application is just like the database code you would use in any other J2EE web application.

Thanks for your reply.

I need detailed examples on how to do this. I am familiar only with the old jsp coding (full code in same jsp) as I used to do, but at this time I want to start as fresh.

So those projects didn't help, right? If you need a more complete guide for JSF (with some appendix about datasource and JPA), I think this (e)book http://www.amazon.com/Core-JavaServer-Faces-3rd-Edition/dp/0137012896 is very very nice for you.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
