Dear authors,

In the OO and java world in particular there is lots to learn...

What do you suggest anyone starting with Spring to have
in his knowledge backpack?

Thank you,

Yvette

Hi Yvette,

Spring Framework is a platform for developing Java enterprise applications. If you are new to Spring Framework, you only need to know Java language fundamentals and basic design patterns in Java (like, Factory and Strategy).

Hi Ashish,

Thank you. And the Inversion of Control plays a role here as well or is it another part of Spring?

Kind regards,

Yvette

Hi Yvette,

Inversion of Control (IoC) is at the heart of Spring Framework. You don't need to know about it in advance. A beginners book (like Getting started with Spring Framework book) explains IoC and DI with examples.

Thank you, that's a relief

We are actually about to start a project involving Spring so this is very useful information for me.

Kind regards,

Yvette
