First of all, thanks for taking the time to consider this request. The title of this topic pretty much speaks for itself.

I realize that this site is not necessarily specializing in native languages such as C or C++, but I propose to have two separate categories for C and C++. The languages are quite distinct, and as such I feel that they deserve their own unique categories. Lumping C and C++ into the same category does little more than promote bad practice with the technologies that, unfortunately, is reinforced by many secondary education providers. With two distinct standards, I feel that the two distinct languages deserve two distinct categories.

Regardless of what comes of this, I'll continue to lurk about the site and answer what I can with the two languages.

Regards,
Luke

Luke, sorry I forgot to respond earlier to this thread.

We did internally discuss about this topic after you raised it and many of us moderators felt that given the low traffic in those forums it was better to have a single forum where both C and C++ questions could be asked. There were other reasons too why the moderators thought it would be better to leave it in the current form.

However, thank you for this feedback and we are glad that you are going to lurk around answering questions.
