Hi all,

is it possible to search attachments?
I have installed jforum-2.3.5

It seems, that is is not possible or do I have to activate this feature in teh admin section?

Thanks
Regards
Mario

Welcome to JavaRanch.

It is possible. Search for "lucene.index.attachments" in SystemGlobals.properties and set it to true. There is no GUI for that. You will have to do a full reindex afterwards.

Hi Ulf,

the parameter was already set:

# whether or not to index (and thus find during a search) attachments
lucene.index.attachments = true

I uploaded a PowerrPoint as attachment, but the search does not find an entry.
Any ideas?

Regards
Mario
