This is page number 330 of Head First Servlet and Jsp Question is
<%@ page isElIgnored="true" %>
and the answer given is "This page directive will only turn-off EL evaluation if the DD declares a <el-ignored>true</el-ignored> element with a URL pattern that includes this JSP" .
But EL is enabled by default , so isn`t it enough to put a isElIgnored="true" on the Jsp page where we want to ignore EL evalution.
But the answer says it will only turn off when you declare el-ignored>true</el-ignored> also in DD.
So why we need to do both.
