Hi there

I'm learning Servlets and JSP from Head First Servlets & JSP book. As mentioned in the book, I compiled my servlet class by typing this --

javac -classpath C:\apache-tomcat-7.0.52\lib\servlet-api.jar;classes;. -d classes src\com\example\web\BeerSelect.java

Can anybody please explain thoroughly, how does this command work? what do -classpath & -d do?
I had used -d earlier to compile my java classes & to put the .class file into specific directory but above command is very much confusing for me.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Read javac command line options and then feel free to come back if you still have any doubts
