To add to what Campbell noted - CodeRanch is offering 1 free ticket (yes, a free ticket) to Devoxx UK 2014 http://www.devoxx.co.uk/ which is scheduled for June 12-13 2014.

The event boasts of a wide range of sessions from prominent speakers from the industry http://www.devoxx.co.uk/schedule-2014/. One of our moderators is attending the event and some of our current and ex-moderators are presenting at the event.

To stand a chance of winning the ticket, all you have to do is participate by posting a limerick in this very thread. You can even post more than once. Members with the most number of cows who post a limerick which we think is the best, stand a chance to win the ticket to Devoxx UK 2014.

This contest ends on Friday, 6th June and winners will be announced by Saturday 7th June.

A Java developer from Cowes
Was sick of the continual rows
Over which one was best:
Java or .NET
"Give me cross platform any day!", he vows.

A Java developer from Cowes
Before noon he seldom would rouse
  His aversion to morning
  Caused many a warning
The 'Job Section' he'd soon need to browse

Was tired of his Enterprise ploughs
So he fashioned a sword
Pinned his job to the board
And forced Spring into businesses' mouths.

Always tops the (Programming)house.
Offered with a PC/Laptop for coding.
But a better code came from a mobile is the ending.

A java developer from cowes
Has spent so many hours
Making his point that java platform was the internet's power.
Learning python and other language
For him was some strange adage
But he learnt that not being polygot was gonna be a disadvantage
he went down on sql
added trending html
and with javascript on the server side he was smart with node js

There once was a guy who wanted a Cow
He yelled to the crowd 'Give me one right now!'
Word was that he wanted to visit Devoxx
And that if it takes he would ride an wild ox
But instead he got some lame mocks
He drowned his sorrows with whisky on rocks

A Java developer from Cowes
struggled with giving his vows.

Pondering his orientation
he wandered lonely around the nation.

"Am I straight am I gay, a prince or a toad?"
was the question he asked, as he walked down the road.

Then he stopped in the middle
and shouted "STOP with this fiddle!"

"I'll say it now or else I'll explode.
I love you! I love you! I love you, my code."

lost his partner in middle of his age,
searched for real reasons to survive,
drenched in tears,
finally found Patience as his partner..

I think a few people might need to read this.

Kudos to Tim Cooke for following in the footsteps of John Clarke and parodying Edward Lear.

No restrictions on how many times you post. In fact my instructional post says:

You can even post more than once

Of the limerick competition ? I believe you can receive an email notification whenever there is a new post - is that live enough for you ?

Anton, there's a "Watch topic" button on this thread which you can click to start getting email notifications whenever there's a new post in this thread. That's the only live transmission that you can get of this limerick contest.

Edit: Actually hold on. I just read your first post in this thread again:

Who knows is there online (live transmission) ???

Are you asking if the Devoxx UK 2014 event will be streamed online live? If that's what you are asking, then you'll have to check their website http://www.devoxx.co.uk/. As far as I know, it won't be streamed online but I think the videos of the recorded events will be uploaded at a later date. You'll have to check their website to be sure.

I think that was what was being asked as well, but as this was in MD I couldn't resist 'accidentally' misinterpreting it.

The cows would love the one
And the one too had fun
Were the cows were from Cowes?

Passionate Java developer who thinks is a Java knight,
started his travel from its old version 1.2 to eight.
To get a chance of winning a ticket by giving a fight,
and hoping to get relaxed in Devoxx night.
