Is second level cache is needed for query cache

I want to implement query cache.. so i set 'hibernate.cache.use_query_cache ' to true ..and run but got an error



do i need to implement second level cache for query cache

at a guess you also need to tell it what implementation you want to use

The queries are cached in the second level cache so yes you need to configure a full 2LC before you switch on Query caching.
