I recently changed career directions, moving from the infrastructure side of IT into development as it is something I have always wanted to do. I am scheduled to sit for my OCAJP7 tomorrow morning, and have to say I feel more nervous than any exam I have taken in the past. Not sure if it is just because it is such a change in direction or not, but I never felt a lot of concern when sitting for my MCSE exams, Cisco, even the C|EH. Hope I am just building it up to be more than it is.

I used the Oracle Press OCA Java SE 7 Programmer Study Guide as my study tool - Link to book. Just curious if anyone has used this for studying, and your results? I even went so far as to take the 170+ mock questions in the book and write a test exam app that pulls up 90 questions at random and then provides a score. Hoping I am more prepared than I feel

Jeremiah,
Welcome to CodeRanch!

I'm sure you are more ready than you feel. It is natural to be nervous before an exam. I think you are right about it being a change in direction that is making you nervous. You probably knew what to expect more. It's cool that you wrote a randomizing application. The best way to get better at coding is to write code.

Don't study too much today. You'll make yourself more nervous. You might want to try downloading the Enthuware trial version to see some fresh questions. Hopefully, taking that will show you that you really do know your stuff.
