I tried running an android app from eclipse on the device and it runs fine. But when i remove the usb cable and run the installed app on the phone it crashes.I recovered the follwoing LOGCAT:

The manifest:

There is a class not found exception at the splash screen. Please help

EDIT:The problem seems to be that the package is supposed to be com.igloo.collegefinder but some where it finds com.example.collegefinder.How do i find where it says com.example.collegefinder.

07-17 18:55:27.554: E/AndroidRuntime(27738): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to instantiate activity ComponentInfo{com.example.collegefinder/com.igloo.collegefinder.SplashScreen}: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.igloo.collegefinder.SplashScreen in loader dalvik.system.PathClassLoader[/data/app/com.example.collegefinder-1.apk]

The repeated mentions of "com.example.collegefinder" sound suspicious to me, as if there's leftover stuff from earlier versions. Do a clean build, and see if that makes difference. Also search through your entire directory for any mentions of "com.example".

IT was a duplicate copy of the app on the phone.

Does that mean you have now ensured that there are no traces whatsoever of "com.example" in your code and config files, have done a clean rebuild, and the problem still occurs? If it means something else, please do this first.
