Modern Web Development with IBM WebSphere: What flavour of WebSphere covered

Hello,

I looked at TOC and IBM Press and noticed that you *probably* cover WebSphere Liberty Profile only?

Could you confirm?

Because it make big difference full profile or liberty profile (I know, in theory applications could be migrated with minimum changes, but in practice it means different set of managed resources/infrastructure available to web application)

Yes, we only cover the Liberty profile in this book, since we believe that for the type of applications we are building that this is all that is required. If you need to build applications using frameworks and features like SIP, then yes, you would still need to use T-WAS but we don't discuss that in the book.

Thank for answering - it's a big honor for me , I was learning WebSphere by your book (Enterprise Java Programming with IBM WebSphere) long time ago... Hopefully the new book will be as good as old one.

I just found couple of months ago that hosting Liberty Profile server is *much* *more* expensive in IBM AHE (you know what I mean), so we had to stick back to WAS full profile (which is much bigger and resources consuming)... Funny, but it's true...
