Hi Joel ! I'd really appreciate it if you could answer the following questions for me:

1 - What are the differences between the 2014 and previous version of this book ?

2 - I see there is a non-trivial project in this book which is great. Do you cover every phase of
the project such as requirements gathering, use cases, mock ups, class diagrams,
ER modeling no matter how simple the DB schema is and finally JSP and Servlets ?

Thank you my friend. I like you.

Hi Ali,

Here are the main differences between the 2014 version of this book and the previous versions:

(1) We updated all source code to work correctly on the latest versions of the software.
(2) We updated all of the web page code to HTML5/CSS3.
(3) We restructured the first 7 chapters to present MVC earlier. This allows us to present best practices first and drop coverage of some JSP skills that were bad practices and mostly obsolete anyway.
(4) We added a chapter on JPA, which is a new way to work with databases that's designed to replace JDBC.
(5) We improved coverage of security throughout the book.
(6) We added an introduction to JSF...just to give a taste of how that compares to servlet/JSP development.

I like you too, my friend.
