Secrets of the JavaScript Ninja. I'm still struggling with some JS concepts and it's something that I'd really like to get good at.

The votes are in, and the September 2014 Book Club is "Clean Code" by Uncle Bob..

Some really good suggestions coming in this month so please keep them coming. Even if Campbell is trying to bankrupt us all with the most expensive programming book I've seen in a long time. An inspiring read I have no doubt but we might have to save up for a couple of months before we run that one.

So please drop by the Bunkhouse Lounge in September where, among other things, you'll be guaranteed to find a passionate discussion about when you should and should not write comments.

In the meantime, for August we're talking about Josh Bloch's "Effective Java". All are welcome.

Since it is getting on for forty years old I would have thought second‑hand copies would be available. We have it in our library (well, it has migrated to our office ‍).

That's nothing. This one has been on my wish list for almost two years. I suspect that's where it's going to stay unless Santa Claus gets really generous.

Thank you Joseph. With that second vote, we have Secrets of the JavaScript Ninja as our book for December.

As an added bonus, one of the authors is our very own CodeRanch Marshal Bear Bibeault. Happy Days!
