Hello everyone,
I came across exception which is bit unique for me, I am using applet for my application which was working fine for about a year in every browser but now I am stuck in one system which has window XP profession, JDK1.5 and IE8. Accessing applet using this system is fine but when data added to the system then following SQLException occurs:

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01722: ugyldig tall
at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java)
at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTIoer.processError(TTIoer.java)
at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.Oall7.receive(Oall7.java)
at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTC7Protocol.doOall7(TTC7Protocol.java)
at oracle.jdbc.ttc7.TTC7Protocol.parseExecuteFetch(TTC7Protocol.java)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.executeNonQuery(OracleStatement.java)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.doExecuteOther(OracleStatement.java)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.doExecuteWithTimeout(OracleStatement.java)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.executeUpdate(OraclePreparedStatement.java)

In other system, the application is working fine. So I am in confuse state.

As I have surf the internet about the ORA-01722 code which was "invalid number" but we are only using varchar2 in this application.

Could anyone provide the suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is much that can said without knowing the DB statement in question, the actual values involved, and the types and values of the DB fields.

But... Windows XP? Java 1.5? Seems like that system is overdue for a serious round of updates.

I have gone to look for myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here with this tiny ad:
