Hi Ranch Team,

I have passed part 1 for OCMJEA before an year, but due to time constraints and project pressure, I could not continue with Part 2 and 3 for OCMJEA 5. Now can you please clarify my questions below.

1. Is OCMJEA 5 still valid to take? Is there any date that it will expire?

2. Or Is it good to take OCM JEA 6 only? Is Sylabus got changed a lot when compared to OCMJEA 5?

Thanks in advance !

Siva

You mentioned you passed part 1. Is that the v5 exam?

The part 1 exam determines what version of EA cert you shall get.

Just to note that the EA6 upgrade is the same exam as EA6 part 1. So technically if you continue with parts 2&3 (get the v5 EA) then do the upgrade ... you will have both credentials

However, if you start afresh with v6 part 1, parts 2&3, you will just end up with v6.

From the money stand point, I doubt you want to waste it by doing the v5 part 1 exam in the past. Furthermore, the upgrade part can be done later. If v7 comes along you can do that too directly skipping v6.

About the validity issue, I guess it's still valid for some time.

Edit: Almost forgot, Oracle now needs mandatory training in order for candidates to "complete" the track. Hence without the training, Oracle would not say you are certified.

Hope this helps.

Thanks TSang. I decided to continue with V5 exam of part 2 and 3.

So Once I complete part 2 & 3 of V5 and then when I apply for upgrade for V6, Do I need to still take those exams for 1, 2 & 3 for V6?

Please clarify.

Thanks
Siva

Say you have v5. Only the upgrade exam is needed to become v6. No need to do the assignment & essay (parts 2&3).

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
