Hello Paul and Joseph,

I am very thrilled and excited about your book which looks really promising, my excitements is because I am in a critical stage of my career where I am putting a lot of efforts to be a software architect at my company and gain the required and the missing knowledge in software applications architecture which was my dream job since the first day I decided to be a Java Software Engineer 7 years back.

The first step to do that I am seeking an official recognition of my architecture vision capabilities by taking the exam and fully committing to its study material in the next 5 months.

I believe that my past hands on experience has covered some topics that are required in the exam, but I am certain that there are a lot more to cover.

My question is this book is going to help me in covering the required topics in the exam ? and how much shall I depend on other references ? and how much time it is going to take a regular permanent employee to be certified.

Thanks,
Hatem

We designed the book to cover all aspects of the OCMJEA 6 exam and to provide the reader with sufficient material in order to pass all three parts. Additional reference material and attending one or more of the recommended classes will also help tremendously. I think six months is a realistic time period for an individual to prepare for and to pass the exam. However this is simply and estimate, your mileage may vary.
