Hi Guys,

I am from India, Bangalore. Having around 8 years of Java and eclipse plugin development experience. I have been associated with product development companies all these years.

I got an offer from Singapore, that's also a product based company which is working on Java. They are ready to offer 5K/per month as a senior software(Here I am working as Lead engineer). But I am just confused to take this offer, consider I am feeling it's very low for my experience and skill set.

I am earning around 19lakhs/annum in India. And they said, they provide employment pass to singapore. It's a direct recruitment to the company.

Few clarifications
1. Is it good to move with this salary ?
2. Will i able to save anything over there ?
3. How much is the cost of living for family(2 members)
4.How much i can ask , if there is a an opportunity to ask them again.

Thank you,
Srinivas

Welcome to the Ranch

Afraid I don't know, but it would help if you did some the ₹ to $ conversions, so we can see whether 5k is more than 19 lakhs.

I would say 5K is very less. You should at least get 6.5 or more than that for your experience level. Singapore work culture is different than india. In few days you will feel that you are underpaid. I think its better to be in india then.

5k (i assume gross salary before taxes) in singapore would be very less when you are earning more than 18L in india. I would say 7k-8k would be decent.

Rental in Singapore is very high (around 2.5k for 2BHK). Not sure about your family situation etc, but 5k seems to be low to me. If you are a bachelor and willing to rent a common room, then it may be a good starting point.
