Hello everyone
I am new to this forum as well as in the programming world of java. I just know some basics of java and C programming which I learn in class. Now I really want to be a programmer.
Can anyone please suggest me the way to follow.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to CodeRanch! What book did you use in school for Java? How far did you get? (This will let us suggest logical next steps)

I just followed the notes provided by my trainer and little bit I studied from internet and from javadoc.
No particular book.
And I am not very good at programming. So m also feeling quiet depressed after viewing various questions here
Please guide.

Hi Twinkle,

If you have a little programming experience, you may want to check out Head First Java, 2nd Edition by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates . That's an often recommended book for the fundamentals and up.
Of course, the Java Tutorials are a great free resource to use, too.

Cheers!
Chris

There are probably two things to say here:
1. Don't be worried that you don't "get it all" immediately. Programming is NOT simple. If it was, everybody would be doing it, wouldn't they?
2. Programming isn't for everybody. If somebody asked me to draw a person, I'd probably come up with something that a talented 8-year old could do just as well.

So, don't do it because you "think you need it". Do it because you LIKE it.
