According to the HTTP header spec, there are 47 different header fields.

HTTP headers

Do I need to memorise all of these for the exam, or is there a smaller group of common headers that I would reasonably be expected to know?

As far as I know, you don't need to memorize the headers. General headers for caching, content-type/encoding/charset, user-agent etc should be enough. I can't think of any type of question that would require you to memorize headers...
