Hi all,

I sccored 80% of OCAJP7 yesterday, on 16 Sep 2014.
Reading this forum was quite useful for me. I would like to feedback my experience to contribute something.

I redo exercise and mock exam in certification guide of Mala Gupta and Study guide of Oracle 3 times each as a first preparation.
I redo Enthuware mock exam a few times as a final preparation. It’s mainly due to having no good result in 1st attempt. Below shows score history.

First attempt
#1: 52% (91 questions)
#2: 60% (91 questions)
#3: 63% (91 questions)
#4: 59% (70 questions here after)
#5: 66%
#6: 71%
Advanced test: 67%
Last test: 63%

2nd attempt (70 questions for all)
#1: 64%
#2: 67%
#3: 74%
#4: 80%
#5: 74%
#6: 81%
Advanced test: ? (disappeared by update)
Last test: 76%

3rd attempt (focusing on no good score in 2nd attempt)
Starter test: 93% (newly created by update)
#1: 80%
#2: 76%
#3: 83%

As you see, average score of 1st attempt was above 60%, 2nd was above 70%, 3rd was above 80%. It means if you manage 80% by redo, it ensures similar score in real exam. I hope this result is useful for people who don’t get good score in 1st attempt of Enthuware mock exam.

I also would like to say thank you to all staff in Enthuware who provided really good mock exam and keep updating. I found many of nearly same questions in real exam, such as Q4 in Test 2.

Hi Akshay,
Real test can be slightly easier than Enthuware. However you'd better keep in mind time consuming when you prepare.
I always try to solve each questions of Enthuware in 1 minutes and 30 seconds. I managed earlier in 2nd and 3rd attempt naturally. I finished 70 questions of real exam in 110 minutes. It's roughly equivalent to my target. Then I started reviewing marked 4 questions and it ended up just after I finish reviewing.

Congratulations, champion! Great score!

And thanks for sharing your mock exam scores and actual exam score. Other ranchers will benefit from these numbers. Have a cow!

These increasing scores, is this because you were able to answer more questions correctly (because you studied hard and got more java knowledge) or was this thanks to memorization (because you took some exams 2-3 times you remembered the correct answer for some questions you missed at the initial attempt)?

Be careful interpreting these numbers. I was getting consistent 80s on the mocks but got 60 I think on the actual. Some of my mock score may have been due to memorization but on the other hand all the questions I got right I did understand so I don't know if memorization actually benefited. This was not recently - it was just as the test changed to the new one.

If you get 80 in a Enthuware mock exam you will not fail the real exam .Guillermo please do not induce people in error on this , if you want to use mock exams as verification on readiness for exam you should not take the same test multiple times and draw the wrong conclusions . You also said that the questions on the exam are longer then the ones in the Enthuware and this thing too proved false when i passed the exam.

Let's put that statement in perspective. A certain score on a mock exam is not a guarantee you'll pass the real exam. But it's true that it is a strong indication for your result on the actual exam. But if you take your mock exams more than once, the mock exam score could not be a good indication because memorization (instead of actual knowledge) comes into play.

Bottom line: if you take a mock exam of Enthuware for the 1st time and you score 80% (or more), you'll have 99.9% chance of passing the OCAJP7 exam too. No doubt!

Tiberius - there are others who corroborated what I said, precisely in fact. And I had no reason to lie. I'm glad you passed the exam if you really did ;)
