Hi all,

I really enjoy this forum but now is gonna be my first post because I need some help about my preparation for the OCAJP 7. I'm studying for that for a month and I shedule my test to next friday. The point is, today I did the EnthuWare Starter Test (54 questions) and my percentage was 74%. I want to do all the EnthuWare Tests until the test. What do you think about my preparation, am I doing well or its better to reshedule my test ?

PS.: Sorry about the english.

Best regards

Hi Rafael,

First of all a warm welcome to the CodeRanch!

In this thread and this one you'll find other ranchers their score on different mock exams and even the score on the actual exam. So that might give you an idea if you are on the right track or not.

That's hard to tell if you don't provide more details. Which resources/books are you using? How long do you study every day? What's your background? How much Java experience did you have prior to starting your study? ...

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel

Hi Roel, I'm using the Mala Gupta's book for OCAJP and studying 5 hours per day and 6 days per week. Ah, before start to study I worked with Java Swing.

Tks for listening.

That's an excellent choice, at this moment probably the best study guide on the market for OCAJP.

That's a decent amount of time you are spending, but it doesn't tell the complete story of course. Some people learn quickly, other require more time. Are you mainly reading the book and just stick to studying the theory? Or do you write truckload of little code snippets and experimenting a lot with making small changes to your snippets?

Seems you have already some Java experience. That's always a bonus. You also purchased the best set of mock exams out there (based on experiences of other ranchers). So I think you are on the right track for now. I believe you can reschedule your exam until 48 hours before the appointment. So if mock exams of Enthuware show you are not ready or you don't feel comfortable, you still have some time to reschedule.

Hope it helps!
Kind regards,
Roel

Are these first attempt scores? Or did you take these tests already a 2nd (and maybe 3rd) time?

Yes, these are my first attempt scores. By the way, today I did the Test 3 and scored 81%. Tomorrow I'm going to do the Last Test and at friday I'll do the exam. What do you think ? Am I prepared ?

Your scores are definitely good enough to pass the actual exam. I guess these mock exams also use the same time deadline as the actual exam?

Good luck friday!

No need to. Just keep calm! If you score 80% on Enthuware mock exams, you'll pass the OCAJP7 exam with flying colours. No doubts!
