Not unless we have a bit more detail.
My advice would be to read the
Wikipedia page about SOA, and see if that answers your questions. If not, come back and ask a
specific question about something you're still unclear on.
Java is an incredibly flexible language, and there's nothing specific about SOA that should cause you to use it any differently than you do now (apart from maybe learning some new classes and techniques).
Don't get scared - or sidetracked - by
TLAs. They're usually used by people who want to sound important, or to make something "seem" mysterious, when, in fact, it really isn't.
Think about it:
Service
Oriented
Architecture. It feels like a sales acronym to me, because it sounds good, but doesn't actually convey ANY meaning whatsoever - at least not to anybody that hasn't worked on those kinds of systems.
It's like "Web services". What's
that supposed to mean? Uhh...something to do with the Web?
So: next time somebody says "SOA" to you, ask them: So what you actually
mean by SOA?
Just make sure that you have a
bit of knowledge when you do.
