Welcome again, Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates.

Thanks for writing such beautiful books over the past so many years. I have read a few of your books and every book I have read ( a few but yeah every book ) gradually became a favorite book of mine. I'm still reading the Head First Design Patterns book ( I try to study a pattern or two each month ) and I guess it'll take me a few more months to complete that book.

I have only started reading the certification book and I'm liking it so much already. Good luck though I know that people are going to love reading this book as well. And wish you both many more such book promotions in the future.

Chan.

Welcome Sierra & Bates! Looking forward to winning the book! If I don't win it, I'll definitely buy it anyway to prepare for the certification. I had the older Java 2 certif book from you and it was excellent indeed.

Welcome the great authors of great books and thank you for your work!
I'm taking OCA Java 8 beta exam in the start of novermber and SCJP 6 book helped me a lot with learning.
I think this book will be very useful, specially with the OCP level which I would like to take after if OCA succeed

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kathy and Bert. Your programmer certification book SCJP6 drilled the foundations of Java into my DNA. It is a blessing to the Java community that you have continued with this noble cause of culturing new Java professionals even with the new Java edition releases. Thank you.

Regards,

Bell Katapa BSc, OCPJP6, OCEWCD6, OCEEJB6.

A big thanks to Cathy and Bert for the much awaited publication. I've been waiting for this publication before I attempt the second level examination for OCA/OCP certification. I had been through the earlier edition which was very helpful to give the exam. Would love to know the pattern of study for the new release.

A very big thanks to you guys. I owe my success in passing SCJP6/SCWCD to you. More than passing the exams, its the beautiful way to explain things which motivated me to do better in coding. I am thinking about upgrading to Java7 cert. Even if I don't win, I will buy this book.

Thanks for the motivation.

How funny that I found this thread today ( some might say SPOOKY!!!)

I was only looking at this book the other day, however Amazon UK don't start selling it until 01/01/15, so as I'm taking my OCAJ SE7 exam on Tuesday, for tonight & ALL this weekend it's study central!!!.

I will be focusing on the SCJP 6 study guide (K& B) (Which Is great), Also utilising the K & B OCP SE6 Practice exams book, the OCA SE7 study guide (Finegan & Ligouri) and Java SE 7 practice questions (Herrera).

So keep your Fingers crossed for me on Tuesday and suffice to say I'm sure that K&B's new edition will be at the forefont of my study mats for the OCPJ exam sometime early next year.

Welcome!
We have already purchased a copy for the team which is being shipped.
Winning a personal for myself would be great!
Reading through SCJP6 really helped sharpen my skills.
It definitely helped when prepping for my last job interview.

Hi Bert!
I was away all week. It's great to see all the discussions from the last four days.
