Greetings,

Well first you need to find a way to post a message without all caps.

If you really want to lean java and have no experience, then you will want to viisit the oracle java tutorials.

If you had posed in lower case i would have provided a link, so go google and find the tutorials.

OK, you have two options - either get someone (a teacher, a tutor, an instructor) to help you, or find the places in the tutorials where you you do not understand and ask us specific questions.

that OK with you?

I don't get too excited about the all caps. I just figured the original poster (OP) was still using an Apple ][e.

And since this group is titled 'no question too small,' thought I'd throw out a usable answer.

While I have not personally used it, many people here recommend the Head First Java book. The first couple of chapters will at least give you an idea on the language rules and syntax, and provide you with the language basics (variable types, what is a variable, conditionals, all that really cool stuff that most of us take for granted.)

The Oracle Java Tutorials, found <here>, do provide a lot of information, but as you have discovered, they aren't the best place for a new programmer to start.

I'm learning java from "Head First Java" but I had prior object oriented programming experience from C++ and that helped me a lot.
If you know procedural programming (like C) then learning to think in "oop" will seem un-natural at first but you do get used to it.
What I personally think is that it would be better for you to start learning C and when you get used to programming move to java.
C will teach you all the basics of programming and java's syntax to many of the basic stuff is the "same" as in C.
So it would help you. But to learn java for beginners the best book out there is "Head First Java" as far as I'm concerned!
If you send is by car it's a shipment, but if by ship it's cargo. This tiny ad told me:
