Dear Kishori Sharan,

I see that you have written 3 books regarding Java 8.

If I have a sound knowledge of Java but not of version 8 which of these books should I read ?

Thanks.

Hello,
My approach in writing is simple: I start from scratch assuming that the reader does not know anything about programming (and about Java in particular) and build the concept related to the topic describing all Java features along the way. Java 8 features are spread across three books wherever they logically belong. A chapter-wise break of Java 8 features is as follows:

Beginning Java 8 Fundamentals:
Chapter 12: Dates and Times (76 pages)
Chapter 17: Interfaces (62 pages)
Appendix C: Compact Profiles (16 pages)

Beginning Java 8 Language Features:
Chapter 5: Lambda Expressions (50 pages)
Chapter 13: Streams (62 pages)

Beginning Java 8 APIs, Extensions and Libraries:
Chapter 8: JavaFX (106 pages)
Chapter 10: Nashorn Script Engine (82 pages)

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
