Hi,

I'm not able to start the Glassfish Server in Netbeans IDE 8.0.1. I always get this:

Could not start Glassfish Server 4.1: Administrator port is occupied by null.

But it is no problem to start a Apache Tomcat Server.

I tried to reinstall Glassfish and Netbeans but it didn't help. I also searched for this PORT (which is "occupied by null") but I didn't find it used at a Program called TCPView.

Maybe somebody can help me :-)
Greetings!
Mario

Doesn't sound like a “beginning” question: moving to our Glassfish forum.

So your computer has Tomcat and Glassfish?

Both default port is 8080. So if you had Tomcat running, starting Glassfish will fail. And vice versa.

Best is to assign a new port to Glassfish if you want both to be running.

I'm not sure what the default administrator port is for GlassFish; a quick search indicates it's 4848, assuming you did not change it. Make sure nothing else runs on that port.

(As an aside, NetBeans is not really related to GlassFish, so no need to fiddle around with it if you're trying to run GlassFish standalone.)

I changed the Port, but it doesn't work as well... really don't know what to do...

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
