How to send database's content from backend to a Bootstrap modal?

I have a page and i want that when the user presses show,then the data from database in the back end should come up in the modal on the same page.How do i do this?Please help.

Not something you'd do with JSP technology -- this needs to be done with JavaScript. Topic moved accordingly.

Concepts you need to use include event handling for detecting button presses, Ajax to fetch server-side data, and DOM manipulation to use the data to construct the content of the modal. (The latter is also possible by returning fully-formatted DOM fragments created via JSP.)
