Hi there
I'm new to WLS and have downloaded the WLS trial version. I'm trying to get it working on RedHat and I get the following message when I try to start it:
***************************************************************************
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.

Is this my system password, or something else?
Any help gratefully received.

BEA supplies a default system password as weblogic_1 in Solaris environment. I am sure it is the same on other environments. Check to make sure it is set properly in weblogic.properties file. Follow the Getting started document for RedHat. Recently I installed and started succesfulkly on Solaris without any problem.

Thanks Raj,
That's great, it solved the problem, and it seems to start up and serve pages now, but there's still an exception being thrown. Anyone know what the problem is? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Don't worry about that; it's thrown because the RSA libraries, which WebLogic uses, prints to stdout every time they can't find their native code libraries.
try adding the following define to your WLS startup script: -Dweblogic.security.SSL.useJava=true
I hope that helps get rid of the error output.
