How is testing done with rest?
I want to test the http rest calls, do we need deploy the web service to tomcat everytime we want to test (as in stop local tomcat, deploy war and then start tomcat again)?
this is in my local and using tomcat 7.
in my opinion, this is very inefficient, but my colleague said that it's okay since we can always just use hot deploy (so we can skip the whole stop and start tomcat which takes forever), since tomcat 7 has improved to reduce hot deploy problems significantly.
is this correct? or should we stick to internal container for testing purposes or is there another solution I'm not aware of?
