Hi,
Today I've passed the exam with a score of 86%.
But I can say the exam was not easy at all comparing with other exams.
The exam is extremely big, there are way too many or big questions.
There are questions where all answers seem correct.
It's the first time I've used all the available time.
Tip: some questions are big, but the answer is about something easy and you can skip the big description.

Study more than Core JSF book, remember the syntax and have common sense.

Congratulations !

Could you name some other books which you used besides "Core JSF" ?

Thanks,
MZ

Congratulations Nicolae

I am also preparing for the JSF Certification, and i am reading the Core JSF, i will also read the complete reference.

But, could you please tell us if you practiced using another book? did you paased some mock exams or exercises before taking the test?

And, could you give us an example of what kind of syntax we have to pay attention for? do we need to know all the Html and Core Tags, and their attributes ?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi,

Well, I didn't studied from other book than Core JSF, that's why I was surprised to find questions I didn't knew nothing about, I just used reasoning and I got them right.
I didn't had any mock questions, that's why it was so difficult.
You really need to know what scope to use in what situations (request, session, view, conversation).
The syntax you need to know isn't very difficult, but you must do some practice, don't just read the book, in order to remember better.

Bottom line: the certification is relatively new, it would have been better to wait half a year or a year for some mock questions, and then life would have been easier.

I think you can read the official API for some tags and classes to get what is missing from Core JSF.

Hi Cosmin Nicolae Vacaroiu,

Sorry to ask you again, but i have only about 100 left to finish the Core JSF book, in parallel i read a lot from JSF specs and the code source of Mojarra Implementation, I am also addicted to JSF questions in Stack overflow.
Do you think that exams questions are similar to questions posted by people here or in SO? because sometimes questions from other people are not so easy to reply, i am really woreid about how diffuclt the questions are? because if its not diffuclt i really want to pass that exam at the end of this month.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Cosmin,

I will pass the exam this week, any other tips ?

And also, could you compare the level of deficulty in the exam questions with JSF questions in coderanch or stackoverflow?

Thanks in advance
