Hi all,
I want to attend SCJP exam. I want to know which version(6,8,7) of it is better. And also is there a way to attend the real SCJP exam online?? there are many online mock test. But is the real test possible through online?

How to register for test? Is there any time duration between registration and appearing for test?
friends please help me.. Thanks in advance

Welcome to CodeRanch!

The OCJP 6 (formerly SCJP) can be taken without a pre-req. To take the OCPJP 7, you need to first take the OCAJP 7. There is no OCPJP 8 yet and the OCAJP 8 isn't released yet. This means you are choosing between the OCJP 6 and the OCAJP/OCPJP 7. The OCJP 6 has the advantage of only requiring one exam. The Java 7 exams have the advantage of being more current and covering more topics.

You cannot take the real exam online. You must appear at a testing center. To register, go to PearsonVUE and find one near you. When you can take the exam depends on when the testing center has openings. In theory, there could be an opening the same day. It is better to register in advance to guarantee yourself the day/time you want to take the test.
