Position Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the service delivery and platform performance of hosted application solutions for American Red Cross’s digital platforms. The primary focus of this position will be assisting with driving reliability, availability, and performance of all hosted systems including provisioning, balancing, and capacity planning while consistently meeting or exceeding all Service Level Agreements. This position will work closely with architects, business analysts, application developers, program managers, and web engineers gathering the appropriate service level requirements and ensuring the overall performance and health of the hosting services being provided in support of the business strategy. The individual in this role must be able to function with a degree of independence and minimal direct supervision. This position will report directly to the Director of Web Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day hosting operations for multiple projects and critical services across the entire web stack including Oracle ATG Commerce 10, Adobe CQ5, Akamai, Oracle 11g, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and
JBoss
Experience with ATG BCC and CSC, shell scripting, complex SQL, e-commerce/payment gateways, Google Analytics, and
J2EE performance tuning is desired.
Drive reliability, availability, and performance of all hosted systems including provisioning, balancing, and capacity planning while consistently meeting or exceeding all Service Level Agreements
Function as the managed services liaison accountable for managing the relationship with key service providers to gain a strong practical and working knowledge of their capabilities.
Provide leadership by understanding business processes, best practices and methodologies that can be used to continuously improve service delivery, operational stability, capacity planning, and ensure compliance with the highest quality standards, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL),and best practices
Supports business continuity and disaster recovery programs for all web platforms ensuring alignment with internal business requirements.
Investigates operations-related problems/inquiries and recommends, facilitates and coordinates solutions.Assists in driving operations and infrastructure projects.
Working in highly client-facing roles to contribute throughout the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of complex and large-scale technology solutions.
Leading on-shore, near-shore and off-shore account teams Experience working in an Agile environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology Certification, or equivalent substantive work experience.
Minimum of 2-4 years experience managing the production infrastructure for web/mobile applications using packaged eCommerce platforms preferably Oracle ATG Commerce
Overall at least 5-7 years experience driving infrastructure activities for web platforms
Experience with infrastructure architecture design and capacity planning
Experience managing infrastructures with high traffic and transactions
Proven fundamental Information Technology experience including architecture, security, infrastructure, applications, information management and service oriented architecture.
Proven track record successfully supporting the ongoing operations of web platforms.
