Hello Everyone,
I am trying to generate a pdf file using Jasper Report tool in NetBeans. The problem i am facing is that, we have hindi entry in database..In order to show that data in JSP i have set page content to UTF-8 and its showing properly.
But while generating its pdf report, i am exporting the data in bytes using ServletOutputStream & in Jasper Report i am using 'Mangal' font..the point is it is not showing exact data as saved in database.
Filename: New-Picture-(1).bmp
Description: Word 'Reflection' in DataBase is saved as :
File size: 23 Kbytes
Filename: New-Picture-(2).bmp
Description: Word 'Reflection' in PDF is coming like this
File size: 19 Kbytes

I think that it's all about choosing a different font and using it in your Jasper reports. I had a similar issue with different languages using cyrillic alphabet.

And if you want to test whether a particular font will serve your purpose, I suggest using a much simpler test environment. Right now you have at least four places where problems could occur and you have no way of identifying which of them is causing the problem. For a start I would get rid of Jasper Reports and JSP and just display the value from the database in a simple Swing application using your chosen font.

Well, at least we may exclude uncorrect dbms codepage setting.... I had to deal with that too !
