I have a Java application and when I tried to build it with "mvn clean install" I got an error message that said this: Cannot find parent: com.javaprojects.hh:hh-project for project: com.javaprojects.hh:hh-core:jar:2.1.5 for project com.javaprojects.hh:hh-core:jar:2.1.5

What could be causing this error? I'm using the correct POM file. I'm using Maven 2.2.1 and Java version 1.6.0_13.

The pom for project hh-core declares that it's parent is hh-project but maven cannot find the project called hh-project with group id com.javaprojects.hh in any of your repositories

I added that pom file to the repository and my project is building now.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
