First, sorry if I bother you with my silly ideas...

In Database forum section there are a good number of sub-forum dedicated to NoSQL engines, JDBC, Big Data and so on. That's fantastic, but what about a forum dedicated to traditional DBMS (MySql, Oracle, DB2, SQLServer and so on) which at the moment play a big role in IT world ?
DBAs and DB developer may have a nice place where discuss about issues, experiences and so on...

Thanks for your attention and time.

We usually discuss SQL in the JDBC forum. Maybe a forum called SQL? Maybe a change of name for the JDBC forum? The JDBC forum has maybe half‑a‑dozen threads a week, so I doubt whether it is large enough to subdivide.
The suggestion about issues and experience might suggest another forum altogether.

Or: I don't know myself.

JDBC was the original forum and is/was intended to cover SQL and traditional databases as well. Any suggestions on how to re-work the subheader? It currently says "Database access, JDBC/ODBC, could even brush on some SQL ".

Change the title to JDBC and SQL Databases?

Just a suggestion.

That may be result in being more attractive for dbas or DB developers. Coderanch is a great community, sounds strange that there are very few posts on dbms related questions.I would not post a request for help about an SQL server stored procedure under a subforum which title starts with JDBC... Somehow I would feel it off-topic.

Claude,
We are having a discussion amongst the moderators about the forum name. It looks like we will be changing it to something and are still figuring out exactly what.

Claude: The forum is now renamed to "JDBC and Relational Databases". I gave you a cow for bringing up a good idea.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
