I'll use weblogic6.0 to deploy the EJBs, but which file I should modify? I know I need to modify weblogic.proprities in weblogic5.1. Please help ASAP, or please let me know the website of bea I need to take a look. Thanks in advance, Sarah
Weblogic 6.0 has a different layout. The equivalent to 5.1's weblogic.properties is an XML file, you'll find it in: $WEBLOGIC_INSTALL/config/$DOMAINNAME/config.xml Note they are per domain, there isn't a global one that I could find. I haven't messed with adding EJBs yet, so maybe someone else can give you detailed instructions there, or you can find it in their docs? Their website is http://weblogic.beasys.com/ Hope this helps, Ames Carlson. ames.carlson-at-informix.com
config.xml is used to set the server's configuration. Basically this is the same stuff you can modify from the console (new in WL6.0). If you are deploying EJB's, you need to modify (usually) three other deployment descriptors (.xml files). Note that these are modified before actually running WebLogic's ejb compiler on your EJB's. ejb-jar.xml - Specified by EJB 2.0. Defines your entity, session and message-driven beans, as well as a bunch of other stuff. This is well documented in the spec. weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml - WL proprietary xml. Used to specify CMP and CMR. weblogic-ejb-jar.xml - WL proprietay xml. Defines specific things about your beans, including mapping between the above two .xmls.
There seems to be many steps in deploying EJBs in WL6.0, but they're all simple. Work you way through BEA's examples to get a feel.
