Hi, I'm a super-newbie to Ruby (and only have very basic knowledge of coding in general), so I'm sorry in advance if any of my questions seem silly ^_^;; Anyways, I have a particular project in mind which requires RMagick but I just cannot figure out how to use it. I tried looking it up and apparently it seems like it's difficult to get it to work with Ruby? I was trying to follow these instructions (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEWAVlNCKhg&feature=youtu.be) which tell you to install ImageMagick as C:\ImageMagick, and then install the source code, then install some developer toolkit called MinGW (I don't even know why I should download all this stuff, these were just instructions I saw someone suggest), but I got stuck where it says to change the environmental variables for Ruby I think it looks like, because my screen is different than what the video shows.

I was just wondering, would anyone be able to help with this? Should I continue with these instructions, or does anyone know of a different way to get RMagick working? If it matters, I'm using Windows 8.1 64 bit, and the version of Ruby I'm using is 1.9.3.

Also, how do I run code from Notepad++? I thought if I selected run and then Ruby it would be that, but it doesn't do anything. If I just try to open the file the Ruby console will appear for a split second and disappear. I guess basically I have no idea how to properly save and run code.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give to this seriously lost and confused newbie!
