I have done a lot of searching on net and tried to understand this concept but still I am unable to understand the entire concept. I am not saying to explain me the entire concept here but can I expect some link from where the concept gets cleared easily ,because even after studying from many blogs,everything is still wierd,and thats why I am unable to catch out the basic concept ,so please guide in clarifying me this concept .

Translated in the case above, you keep polling (or actively sampling) the ice cream shop (by calling on the phone)
