Proper usage of @ModelAttribute?

what's the difference between the following:

public String foo(@ModelAttribute User user, HttpServletRequest request)

and

public String foo (@ModelAttribute("user") User user , HttpServletRequest request){

As per the javadoc if you don't specify value, it will construct the name pf the model Attribute from the type of the parameter
