Hi Venkat Subramaniam, all the best for your book .

What exactly is functional programming. Is it just explanation of java in theory with out any coding ? How different is this book from other java learning books ?

Thank you-
Shiva

Hi Siva,

Here are a few excerpts from the book that may help you see if there is good balance between theory and code:
<http://media.pragprog.com/titles/vsjava8/hello.pdf>;
<http://media.pragprog.com/titles/vsjava8/strings.pdf>;

I hope those who have read a few books will be able to compare and express their opinions here.

Thanks,

Venkat
