I am using Tuckey URL Rewriter to create nice URLs in my servlets application. I was wondering how can I create error pages for 404, 500, etc, errors.

The servlet-filter for the rewriter is configured this way:

As we see, the url-pattern matches every URL in the application. Using <error-page> will not work, because every request will always go to the rewriter. The problem lies that I cannot get the rewriter to display custom pages for errors it encounters. I have found nothing about that in it's docs. I believe there must be some way to achieve this, I just simply do not know this library good enough.

If anybody has any ideas how I could get this working without need to modify the library's code, it would be great.

Thank you for your time!
