Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the security policy or add the ability to allow content copying for the PDF version of this book? They allow printing of the document but not copying. Sometimes I'd like the ability to copy and paste the code into the text editor instead of having to type it all. It doesn't seem like not allowing copying is going to create much added security to keep people from sharing the file with people that haven't paid for a copy of the book.

I guess it could be K&B's sinister plan to force those of us studying for the exam to practice writing code.

I think if you don't have the password, you won't be able to bypass the content copying restriction. But it's indeed a very good coding practice

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
