Below code snippet compiles and print 2.
I've 2 questions.
1. Should not getArray() method throw compilation error as it's return type is int[], but returning null
2. Why does system.out.println after catch block execute as try throws java.lang.NullPointerException

1) Do you understand why this code works?

int[] is a reference. It can be an array or it can be null.

2) The catch block catches the exception and does nothing with it. It doesn't throw another exception, so control proceeds normally after the try/catch.
